Location. The Hotel Cavalieri is located on the island of Sicily in Siracuse, Italy, 200 metres from the Apollo Temple, 200 metres from the sea, 500 metres from the Aretusa Fountain, and 800 metres from the cathedral. It is 500 metres from Siracuse central railway station.
Hotel Features. This grand, white hotel is situated in the centre of Siracuse, and features a graceful, white lobby with a black and white tiled floor, sleek armchairs, and low, antique oak tables. Multilingual staff can arrange concierge services, express check in and check out, room service, and airport transport (surcharge). Other amenities include dial up Internet connections and nearby parking.
The hotel serves a complimentary buffet breakfast daily.
Guestrooms. There are 18 air conditioned guestrooms, built over three floors, with contemporary Mediterranean decor featuring stone tiles, white painted walls and plain, dark soft furnishings. All are equipped with cable television, direct dial phones, dial up Internet connections, and safes. Bathrooms have shower/bath combinations, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. The Catacombs of San Giovanni are an incredible maze of tunnels and passages with thousands of tombs and several frescoes. They're part of Basilica of St, John the Evangelist, built by the Normans and destroyed in 1693. Only partially restored, it was erected over an ancient crypt of the martyr San Marciano, which was later destroyed.

From Catania Fontanorossa Airport (CTA):
Distance to Hotel Cavalieri is 55 kilometres, approximately 60 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Buses run directly to Syracuse from the airport. Tickets are available from a booth in front of the terminal building, and must be validated when boarding. Taxis cost around 50 EUR to Syracuse. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. Buses run through Syracuse. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.
